The School Board meeting for the District No. 1 Fractional Tyrone & Casnovia Townships minutes: "Sept. the 3rd , 1883 The annual meeting of the legal voters of District No. 1 Frac. Tyrone & Casnovia met at the school house at 7 o’clock PM. Meeting was called to order. F.A. Bail elected chairman. The report was accepted. The meeting proceeded to elect a director and Edgar B. Chase was declared elected. 7 votes cast for Thomas Chase for Moderator and was declared elected. Voted for E.B. Chase $6.00 for services as director. Voted to pay Clara Stafford for four days time attending Teacher’s Intitute. Voted that there shall be furnished 10 cords of beach and maple wood; Lambert Stinson to furnish same at $1.00 per cord. Motion made and carried to have 9 months school; two months fall and four winter months by male teacher, and three summer months meeting was adjorned. E.B. Chase, Director" |
