The last recorded school board minutes in this school journal were for Sept. 7^th, 1885. The "legal voters of school District No. 1 of Tyrone & Casnovia met at the school house at 7 o’clock." George Hemsley was elected assessor and they voted for 8 months of school; two months fall, three months winter, and three months summer. A motion was also made and carried "for the officers of said school district to look up and settle an account with Tyrone Township." Motion was made and carried and signed by Edgar B. Chase, Director. Cora A Van Wyck was hired as a teacher Sept 7, 1885 through January, 1886; but the financial records were transferred to the new school journal for this last expenditure. The last financial report is dated Sept. 7, 1885 in this record and labeled "Settled up to Sept. 7, 1885".

What next format the school journal is after that I do not know, but this school journal from 1865 through 1885 was most informative and entertaining to transcribe. I was fortunate that both sides of my family, the White family and the Chase family, kept old records and photographs and that they shared these treasures with one another. Edgar B. Chase did well to pass this school journal on to interested people who kept it and finally made it possible to be available to all of us today.
