History of the Rockford Royal Camp Neighbors of America
Rockford Camp, Royal Neighbors of America, Number 6254, was instituted, April 21, 1910. The charter members were as follows: Libbie Baldwin, Emma M. Betts, Christie Blackburn, Lillian Blackley, Edna Clark, Etta Denton, Hazel Eadie, Jennie M. Perry, Margaret Rathburn, Ettie Smith, Katie Van Congen, Hattie Wilkinson, Martha Eggleston, Mildred Elkins, A. C. Huebner M.D., Carrie Huebner, Etta Hunting, Ida M. Lovelace, Bessie Medendorf, Lulu Newcomb, Reba Post, Lillian Shank, Genevieve B. Stocum, Vera Whittall and Anna Wood.
The Camp was organized in McMillian hall, now owned by Ralph June. Mrs. James Lombard, District Deputy, of Grand Rapids, acting as installing officer.  The officers elected at this meeting were: Oracle, Lillian Shank, Vice Oracle, Martha Eggleston; Recorder, Lulu Newcomb; Receiver, Edna Clark and Physician, Dr. Huebner.

Meetings were held in the McMillan hall until 1913 when the Camp purchased from the I.O.O.F. their hall at the corner of Bridge and Main streets. The hall is still the property of the Rockford Camp.

Of the original charter members, there are still six on the roll.

At the present time there are twenty-one beneficiary, five social and three juvenile members.

Meetings are held the first and third Thursday of each month.

Present officers are: Oracle, Mable Spring; Vice Oracle, Ada Finch; Recorder, Lorina Warner; Receiver, Zilla Alber; Board of Managers, Maud Muir, Marion Bradley and Etta Hunting.
