Owen Narrengang

Owen Narrengang, born 23 Aug 1827 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
He then went to Grandville and stayed for one year and in the fall came to Byron Center. He purchased a blacksmith shop and two lots on Main Street. He built a house, store and agricultural warehouse. In 1873, he started a business as a dealer in agricultural implements and in 1877 opened a store comprising a general store of dry goods, groceries, drugs, medicine, boots, shoes, hardware and crockery. He married 5 Sep 1849 in Livingston County to Polly Kennedy, daughter of John and Maria (Schmerhorn) Kennedy.. He was a republican and was elected to several township offices. |
