Siegel Wright Judd   Pg. 322 - Siegel Wright Judd is making his influence felt in successful and worthy achievement as one of the representative younger members of the Grand Rapids bar, and the record he is making is the more interesting to note by reason of the fact that he is a native son of Grand Rapids, his birth having occurred here June 19, 1985. He is a son of Edward C. and Lillian V. (Wright) Judd, who still reside in this city, where the father established his home in the year 1880. In the Central high school of Grand Rapids Siegel W. Judd was graduated in 1914, and in historic old Dartmouth College he was graduated as a member of the class of 1918, with the degree of Bachelor of Science. In May, 1917, shortly after the nation became involved in the World war. Mr. Judd enlisted in the United States navy, in which he continued his service, largely as an ensign on the battleship Pennsylvania, until the close of the war, he having received hi honorable discharge in June, 1919. In 1921 he was graduated in the law department of the University of Michigan, and his admission to the bar was virtually coincident with his reception of the degree of Bachelor of Laws. In the practice of his profession in Grand Rapids Mr. Judd has been associated with the representative law firm of Travis, Merrick, Warner and Johnson. He s a member of the Grand Rapid Bar Association and the University Club, and he attends and supports the Fountain Street Baptist Church, of which his wife is an active member. June 29, 1922, Mr. Judd married Miss Dorothy Leonard, who was born and reared in Grand Rapids and who is a representative of a family that has long been prominent and influential in the civic and industrial history of this city, where her father, Harry Leonard, is vice-president of H. Leonard & Sons, and treasurer of the Grand Rapids Refrigerator Company.
