| This photo was taken from a 1914 Big Rapids High School yearbook, shows the forensic students in high school that year. 1st Row, left to right are: Essie Olin, Bergitte Nelson, Belle Olin and Hazel Harrington, whose father was supertendent of school. Front Row, left to right, Ben Fairman, Alice Brack, Rosa Lee Hangstafer and Lena Palmer. The picture was brought into the Pioneer by Vera Barker. from whose yearbook it was taken. Belle Olin took first place in orations with "King Alcohol", Bergitte Nelson with "Chinese Education" and Leon Palmer with "International Peace" tied for second place. |
