Welcome to Mecosta County on MIGenWeb, a part of USGenWeb. This network of websites provides free online genealogical information. These websites are created by volunteers and are meant for personal use. | |||||||
The first non-native settlers in Mecosta County arrived around 1850. Most of these men were loggers and lumbermen who cleared forests and sent their cuttings downriver. Villages that sprung up and flourished at that time are now small communities of farmers and businessmen. Were your ancestors part of Mecosta County History? In these pages you will find some history of the county, vital records, links to land records and biographies of the people who lived in the area. |

Updates: 2024 25 Oct 2022 12 July 2022 If you have suggestions or corrections, please feel free to contact me. I have been known to do a bit of basic research for people, but mostly I will make suggestions of where to look for information. It's more fun and rewarding to discover the facts yourself. I also seek out documents and photos that can be posted on the website to help others in their genealogical research. If you have something without a copyright that you would be willing to share, just let me know. I do not want the item, just the chance to copy it. You will see changes as I work my way through the site. Please be patient. April 2022 |
