Abraham enlisted for 3 years of service at Ovid, Michigan, on November 23, 1863, at the age of 18. He took the muster oath on December 29, 1863. He was wounded in action at Spottsylvania, Virginia, on May 12, 1864. He mustered out of the service at Delaney House, District of Columbia, on July 26, 1865.His postwar address was Columbia, Oklahoma.
