From Saugatuck. He enlisted May 13, 1861, at Grand Rapids, for 3 years at age 23. Mustered June 10, 1861. Promoted to Corporal before he died June 24, 1862 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of wounds he received in action at Fair Oaks, Virginia, on May 31, 1862. He is pictured here with his sister Ella A.
