From Oshtemo. Enlisted in company L, Fifth Cavalry, Aug. 22, 1862, at Kalamazoo for 3 years at age 34. Mustered Sept. 2, 1862. Taken prisoner at Brandy Station, Va., Oct. 12, 1863. Died in prison at Andersonville, Ga., June 10, 1864. Buried in National Cemetery, Andersonville, Ga. Grave No. 1804.
