From Tekonsha, George enlisted August 20, 1864, Marshall, for 3 years service at age 20. Commissioned 2nd Lt. on December 29, 1864. Commissioned 1st Lt. the next day. He was Aide-De-Camp on the staff of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 23rd Army Corps from March, 1865. Acting Quartermaster and Commissary of Substance from January, 1866. He was Mustered out at Raleigh, NC, on June 5, 1866.
