Company F, 30th Michigan Infantry
From Farmington, Michigan, he enlisted as a Sergeant , August 8, 1862, at Farmington, Michigan, for 3 years service at age 25. He was captured at Chickamauga, Georgia, on September 20, 1863. Released and discharged he re-entered service in the 30th Michigan Infantry, Company F as 2nd Lieutenant at its organization and commissioned on November 18, 1864. He was discharged at Detroit on July 28, 1865.
