Hiram enlisted for three years on April 22, 1864, at Bay City, at the age of 21. He mustered on April 28, 1864. Hiram mustered out at Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 13, 1865. After the war he moved to Ford River, Michigan. Some documents list his last name as Weliman and first name as Henry.
