From Tuscola Co., Michigan, William enlisted on September 2, 1861, at East Saginaw for 3 years of service at age 26. He took the Muster Oath on October 2, 1861. He was discharged for disability due to a horse fall on August 25, 1862, at St. Louis, Missouri. He re-entered service as a Corporal in Company B of the 29th Michigan Infantry on September 1, 1863, at Hampton, Michigan. He was transferred to the Veteran reserve Corps and discharged for disability at Springfield, Missouri, on September 5, 1865 from Company C, 15th Regiment of the Veteran reserve Corps. He is buried in Denmark Township Cemetery, Village of Reese, Tuscola County, MI.His name is spelled William H. Park in the Michigan Records.
