Albert C. Straub

BELLEVILLE – Albert C. Straub, 80, of 14384 Elwell Rd., formerly of London Township, died Sunday night in his home. He had suffered a stroke in July, 1990.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Liedel Funeral Home, Maybee, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Roger Straub, a nephew of Mr. Straub, of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church win Lansing will officiate. Burial will be in Alban Cemetery, Ypsilanti.

Born June 10, 1911, in London Township [Monroe County, Michigan]. He was the son of Edward and Rose (Rothman) Straub. He was married Feb. 18, 1956, to Shirley H. Bruder in the Willis Methodist Church.

Mr. Straub had been employed as a custodial foreman for 20 years by the Van Buren Public Schools in Belleville, retiring in 1977. He also had been employed as an attendant by the Stevens Funeral Home in Milan and the Baum Funeral Home in romulus.

He had attended London Township Schools.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Keith Bruder of Willis and Richard Straub of Dundee; three daughters, Mrs. George (Saundra) Brown of Belleville, Kathleen Darnell of Romulus and Mrs. Alva (Dawn) Pluff of Willis; a brother, Kenneth of Milan, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward; and a sister, Edna Stasne.

Memorials may be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
