Alice C. (Knapp) Sorter (includes picture of her)
Mrs Alice Caroline Sorter, 75, of 6891 S. Custer Rd, formerly of 1515 W. Rauch Rd, Temperance, died at 1:11 p.m. Monday in Flower Memorial Hospital, Sylvania, Ohio. Friends may call after 7 tonight in the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, where services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Paul O. Richert of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate and burial will be in the King Cemetery, Raisinville Township.
Born May 6, 1914, in Raisinville Twp, she was the daughter of Ralph and Susan (Yarger) Knapp. She was married April 8, 1936, to Donald W. Sorter in Ida. He died March 2, 1962. Mrs Sorter was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid and Sunday morning Bible class. She also was a member of Samaria Chapter 391, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Dundee Senior Citizens. Surviving are 3 sons, James L, of Hudson, Donald K. of Temperance, and Lloyd W. of Monroe, a brother Elmer Knapp of Monroe, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd G. Knapp. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
