Alvin Yarger
TEMPERANCE----Alvin Yarger, 91, of Temperance died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday in the Toledo Hospital. He had been in poor health for five years and seriously ill a month. He had been in the hospital since April 15. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida. He will lie in state from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church, Temperance, of which he was a member. The Rev. Roy Clark of that church will officiate. Burail will be in Lambertville township.Born Feb 22, 1905, in Erie, he was the son of Charles and Mary Anne (Schlesselmann) Yarger. He married Ethel (Dentel) Marks on May 18, 1932, in Britton. A past president of the Monroe County Farm Bureau, he was employed by Secor Landscaping Co, and operated Appleman's Farm, as a landscaper and farmer. He retired in 1971. Surviving are four sons, Richard of Kalamazoo, Lowell of Temperance, Paul of Owosso, and Marvin of Huron, three stepdaughters, Mrs Dale (Barbara) Gensler of Clayton, Mrs Ernest (Mary Elaine) Folk of Temperance and Mrs Charles (Jeannine) Reinbolt of Erie, a brother, Robert C. of Eagle Harbor, 13 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 14 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former E. Merle Brunt, on Oct 2, 1981, an infant brother, and two sisters. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Temperance, or Erie United Methodist Church, Erie.
