Benjamin C. Straub

MAYBEE, April 10 – Benjamin C. Straub, 71, died of a heart attack at 4:15 today in his home at 9357 Allison Rd., London Township.

The body is at the Liedel funeral home where friends may call after tomorrow morning. Arrangements are pending.

Born Jan. 15, 1879, in London Township, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Straub. He attended Gramlich and St. Joseph Schools. He married Barbara Liedel in 1906 in St. Joseph Church. The Rev. John Miles was in charge. The couple lived at the Straub homestead until her death May 28, 1934.

May 1, 1937, he married Dora Currier.

He served as a director of Gramlich School several years.

Surviving are his wife, Dora; three sons, Clem Arthur and Herman of Maybee, 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Fred and John of Monroe and Leonard of Inkste[?] and and two sisters, Mrs. William Keegan and Miss Theresa Straub of Mt. Clemens. His parents, a daughter, a son and a sister preceded him in death.
