SOUTH ROCKWOOD - Benjamin J. VanWassehnova, 79, of 6915 Labo Rd. died at 1 p.m. yesterday in St. Vincent's Hospital at Toledo. He suffered a broken hip nine days ago.

Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Saturday in the Clark H. Ford and Son Funeral Home at Rockwood and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Charles Catholic Church at Newport. The Rev. Anthony Kerry will officiate, and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home.

Born Aug. 20, 1881, in Berlin Township he was the son on dominic and Angeline VanWassehnova. He married Rose Lemerand Nov. 24, 1903, in St. Mary's Catholic Church at Rockwood, with the Rev. T. H. Rose performing ther ceremony. Mr. VanWassehnova was a member of St. Charles Church.

Surviving are a son, Enos of South Rockwood; two daughters, Mrs. Russell Venier of South Rockwood and Mrs. Elmer Frey of Newport; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
