Those from a distance to attend the funeral of Mrs. Geo. Yarger last Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Zacharias, of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Harbine Zacharias, Mrs. Lucy Mason, Miss Ida Zacharias, and Miss Lucy Rauch, of Detroit, Miss May Kinney, Mrs. B. Verdan and Miss Wilma and Willie Verdan of Toledo, O. Catherine Jane Zacharias, daughter of P. K. and Barbara Zacharias, was born in Clear Spring, Washington Co., Maryland Oct 30, 1830. She came to Michigan with her parents in 1841, settling in Monroe Co. near her present home. In 1863 she was united in marriage to George Yarger of this county. In her youth she united with the German Reform church and continued that relationship till her death, which took place at her home in Bedford township, April 18th, aged 76 years, 5 months, and 19 days. She is survived by two dautghters Misses Carrie and Barbara and one son Harbine. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Neriah church by Rev. Rowe, that church being the one she helped to establish in her youth. All remember her as an affectionate wife and mother and a kind neighbor.
