Mrs. C. Masserant

NEWPORT - Mrs. Charles (Delia) Masserant, 72, of 7936 N. Dixie Highway, Newport, died at 6:15 a.m. today in Mercy Hospital which she had entered yesterday. She had been ill a few days.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Allore Funeral Home in Monroe and at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Catholic Church here. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow and Thursday.

Mrs. Masserant was born Jan. 7, 1892, in south rockwood, the daughter of John and Helen Roberts. Most of her life was spent in Newport where on April 30, 1912, in St. Charles Church she married Mr. Masserant. The Rev. Tobias Morrin officiated.

She was a member of the church, its Christian Mothers Club and its Ladies Altar Society.

Survivors are her husband; 2 sons, Ivan and Carl of Newport; a daughter, Mrs. Murlin (Beulah) Gaynier of Newport; 3 brothers, Amos Roberts of Newport, Chauncey Roberts of South Rockwood and Henry Roberts of Waltz; 4 sisters, Mrs. Lydia St. Bernard of River Rouge, and Mrs. Edward Masserant, Mrs. Frances Reaume and Mrs. Royal Reaume, all of Newport; 15 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
