Donald Sorter

Temperance-------Donald Sorter, 48, of 1515 W. Rauch Rd, died at 3:55 a.m. today in St Vincent's Hospital at Toledo where he had been receiving treatment the last two weeks for a heart ailment. Friends may call after 7 tonight in the Capaul Funeral Home at Ida where services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Paul Crabtree will officiate and burial will be in King Cemetery. Samaria Lodge 438, F and AM, will conduct Masonic services at 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.


Mr Sorter was born April 18, 1913, in Bedford Township, the son of Claude and Pearl (Klinck) Sorter. He married Alice Knapp April 8, 1936, at Ida. He operated a farm and was a lathe operator at Toledo Scale Co. He was a member of the Ida Evangelical United Brethern Church, Samaria Lodge 438, F and AM, and Dundee Lodge 74, F and AM. He is survived by his wife, three sons, James of Ida, and Kay Don and Lloyd, both at home, and his father and stepmother, Mr and Mrs Claude Sorter of Temperance. His mother died Dec 7, 1939.
