Edward W. Straub, 81, of Maybee, [Monroe County, Michigan], died Thursday, April 17, 1997 in Saline Hospital, Saline.

Services were hel Monday, April 21, 1997, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Maybee. The Rev. Casimir Wiercioch officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery, Maybee. Liedel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

He was born December 5, 1915, in Maybee, the son of Joseph and Mary (Hentschel) Straub.

He was a farmer, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Maybee, the London Senior Citizens and a former member of Milan Citizens and a former member of Milan Lodge 335, Loyal Order of the Moose.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Walter and a sister, Mary Borgedain.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph‘s Church in Maybee.

MAYBEE – Edward W. Straub, 81, of Maybee died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Saline Hospital, Saline. He had been in poor health since October.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Liedel Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Maybee [Monroe County, Michigan].

Born Dec. 5, 1915, in Maybee, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Hentshell) Straub.

A life member of St. Joseph’s Church, Maybee, and a member of the London Senior Citizens. He was a former member of Milan Lodge 335, Loyal Order of the Moose.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Walter; and a sister, Mary Bogedain.
