Mrs. Emma Masserant

NEWPORT - Mrs. Emma G. Masserant, 71, of 8239 Swan Creek Rd. here died yesterday in the Beach Nursing Home in Monroe where she had been for seven weeks. She had been ill for the last 12 years.

Friends may call at the Clark H. Ford and Son Funeral Home in Rockwood. Services will be at 11:30 p.m. (sic) Wednesday in the funeral home and at noon in St. Charles Catholic Church here. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.

The daughter of John and Helen Roberts, she was born Jan. 7, 1894, in Newport. She married Edward Masserant Nov. 23, 1915, in Newport. He died May 18, 1963.

She was a member of St. Charles Church and the Ladies Altar Society of the church.

She is survived by 2 sons, Hayward and Arnold, both of Newport; a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Murphy of Rockwood; 3 brothers, Amos of Newport, Chauncey of South Rockwood and Henry of Waltz; 3 sisters, Mrs. Lydia Bernard of Riber Rouge and Mrs. Frances Reaume and Mrs. Myrna Reaume, both of Newport; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters preceded her in death.
