Frances R. Reaume

NEWPORT - Frances R. Reaume, 96, of Newport died at 11 p.m. Saturday at the Frenchtown Nursing Care Center. She has been in ill health since October.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Catholic Church, Newport. The Rev. William Tindall of St. Charles Catholic Church will officiate, and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.

Born Jan. 3, 1901, in Newport, she was the daughter of John and Helen (Van Washenova) Roberts. She married Harvey B. Reaume on Jan. 22, 1924 in St. Charles Catholic Church. He died Oct. 11, 1950.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and a member and past president of its Altar Society. She also was a member of the Newport and Frenchtown Senior Citizens and the Michigan Farm Bureau.

Surviving are a son, Irving J. of Newport; two daughters, Mrs. Monte (Elaine M.) Sweet and Mrs. Joseph (Shirley A.) Congioloso, both of Newport; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; three brothers, Amos, Chauncey and Henry, and five sisters, Lydia Bernard, Emma Masserant, Myrna Reaume, Pearl Chinavare and Debra Masserant.
