Frederick M. Straub

Frederick M. Straub, 81, retired farmer, died at 4 a.m. today of a cerebral hemorrhage in Mercy Hospital where he was taken yesterday. His home was at 715 West Front St.

The body is in Rupp funeral home pending arrangements.

He was born in London Township March 11, 1869, and married Lena Gramlich [on] June 28, 1892, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Maybee [Monroe County, Michigan] with the Rev. James Tonayne performing the ceremony. Mrs. Straub preceded him in death Oct. 8, 1944. They moved to Monroe when he retired from farming 25 years ago.

He is survived by two sons, Clarence of Dearborn and Gilbert of Plymouth; seven daughters, Mrs. Frank Schneider, Mrs. Cletus Barron, Mrs Francis Conlisk, Mrs William Lavoy and Mrs. Joseph Complo, all of Monroe, Mrs. David Burke of Dundee and Mrs. Lawrence Sullivan of Maybee; two brothers, John of Monroe and Leonard of Derborn; two sistrs, Miss Theresa Straub and Mrs. William Keegan, both of Mt. Clemens; 25 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
