George C. Verdon
IDA----George c. Verdon, 74, died Tuesday night in his home at 1632 Rauch Rd after several months' illness. Born April 10, 1879, in Ida Township, he was the son of Willilam and Barbara Yarger Verdon. He married Bertha Brunt Feb 25, 1903 in the home of her parents at Samaria. The Rev Charles Baldwin performed the ceremony. Mr and Mrs Verdon celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1953. Mr Verdon was a farmer all his life.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha, a daughter Mrs Norman Schafer of Ida, a son, Clyde of LaSalle, a brother William of LaSalle, five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A son died in infancy. The body is in the Capaul Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 2 Friday afternoon. The Rev. Albert Fall of the Erie Evangelical United Brethern Church and the Rev. Paul Crabtree of the Ida Evangelical United Brethern Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lambertville Cemetery.
