Margery McClain Yarger, daughter of Thompson and Susan Zimmerman McClain, was born May 1, 1849, in Westmoreland Co, Pa, and died at her residence in LaSalle May 11, 1911. At an early age she united with the Concord M.E. church. Later upon coming to Michigan she united with the Samaria M.E. church, being a member of that church at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to David Yarger in 1882, who with a daughter, Miss Ethel, survives her. Her kind gentle manners won her many friends, but being in poor health for some time, she was unable to mingle with them. She was a resident of this locality for several years moving to LaSalle last year. Owing to illness the bereaved husband was unable to attend the funeral. Husband and daughter have the sympathy of their many friends. Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the Erie Evangelical church conduced by Rev. Hathaway of the Samaria M.E. church, interment at Union cemetery.
