[Tuesday] 12 December, 1944 Special to the Evening News [of Monroe, Michigan]Mrs. Frank StraubMAYBEE – Dec. 12 – Mrs. Frank Straub, 77, died of pneumonia at 8:40 a.m. today in her home three miles northwest of Maybee. She had been ill about five weeks. The body will be taken to the Liedel funeral home pending final arrangements. [Her father’s name was John Linenfelser, but the first name of the deceased is not given.][Wednesday] 13 December, 1944 Special to the Evening News [of Monroe, Michigan]MAYBEE – Dec 13 – funeral services for Mrs. Frank Straub, who died of pneumonia yesterday in her home on the Allison road three miles northwest of Maybee, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Maybee. The Rev. Fr. Bernard Loehrer will officiate and interment will be in St. Joseph’s cemetery. The body is at the Liedel funeral home, to remain until time for services. The Christian Mother’s Sodality will hold prayer services in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday.Mrs. Straub was born in London township [Monroe County, Michigan] February 10, 1868, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Linenfelser, and spent her entire life in the township. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s church and also a member of the sodality. In 1889 she married Ludwig Liedel of London township and the daughter born to that union, Mrs. Emma Eby, died February 12, 1920. Mr. Liedel’s death occurred February 8, 1931. On June 25, 1935 she married Frank Straub, the Rev. Frank Bertram of St. Joseph’s Church performing the ceremony. She leaves besides her husband, two grandsons, Bernard and Daniel Eby of Maybee [Monroe County, Michigan]; a granddaughter, Mrs. Eva Schwartz of Detroit; one great-grandson; 12 step grandchildren and 22 step great-grancdhildren [Monday] 18 December, 1944 Special to the Evening News [of Monroe, Michigan]MAYBEE, Dec. 18 – Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Straub, 76, who died Tuesday, were held in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Maybee, at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Fr. Bernard Loehrer officiated and interment was in St. Joseph’s cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Eby, Clem Straub, Ben Straub, Anthony Werstein, Benoit Werstein and mr. Franzen.
