Mrs. Henry Straub

Special to the Evening News [of Monroe, Michigan] MAYBEE – Nov. 28 – Mrs. Henry (Anna) Straub, aged 87 years, died at 12:10 o’clock this morning at her home in Maybee. She suffered a paralytic stroke October 18.

She was born October 3, 1853, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. George Meyer of Stony Creek and married Henry Straub of London township [Monroe, Michigan], September 25, 1876 at St. Patricks’ Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple lived on a farm in London township. Mr. Straub died in 1930 and in 1935 Mrs. Straub sold the farm and moved to Maybee to make her home with her son George.

Surviving are the son; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Schnepf of Monroe; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. A son Charles died in 1918 and a daughter, Mrs. Ben Heisler, died in 1929.

Mrs. Straub was a member of the Christian Mother’s Society of St. Joseph’s. The organization will meet for prayers at the Liedel funeral home tomorrow evening at 8 o’clock.

The body will remain at the funeral home until 10:15 o’clock Saturday when services will be held in st. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Albert George will officiate and interment will be in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
