Royal Reaume

GIBRALTAR - Royal (Pip) Reaume, 89, of Gibraltar, formerly of Newport, died at 9:23 p.m. sunday in Seaway Hospital, Trenton, where he had been for three weeks. He had been ill for two years.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today in the Allore Funeral Home, Monroe. Monroe Council 1266, Knights of Columbus, will conduct a litany service at 7 tonight at the funeral home, with the rosary led by Deacon Alfred H. Hoffman. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home and at 11 in St. Charles Catholic Church, Newport. The Rev. John LaCasse of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ida, and the Rev. Thomas Royal Reaume, a grandson of Mr. Reaume and the chaplain at the Ionia Medium Security Facility, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Newport.

Born Nov. 10, 1902, in Newport, he was the son of Charles and Mary (Blanchette) Reaume. He married Myrna Roberts on Nov. 24, 1925, in St. Charles Catholic Church, Newport. She died April 15, 1973.

Mr. Reaume was a lifelong farmer in Newport, retiring in 1975.

He was a member of St. Charles Ushers Club and Holy Name Society; Monroe Council 1266, K of C, and Frenchtown Senior Citizens.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Orville (Ruby) Montri of Temperance, Ms. Evelyn Reaume of Taylor, Mrs. Donald (Marilyn) Blaine of Gibraltar and Mrs. Ronald (Audrey) Stein of Monroe; a brother, Raymond M. of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Merrill; seven brothers, and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Guest House of Lake Orion or the Philadelphia House of Monroe..
