Vitals | Andrew Mulnix was born in Delaware County, New York on 24 Jan 1833. He was the son of John and Theresa/Thirzy Mulnix. He settled in Montcalm County in September of 1855. On 18 Jul 1857 he married Olive Ruth Miner in Bloomer Township, Montcalm County, MI. She was born 24 Sep 1843 to John A. and Cordelia (Thompson) Miner. Andrew and Olive had the following children: Adelbert Anderson(1860-1930) husband to Annie E. Bellows, Anna Daverman and Elsie (Hatfield) Hartman; Linda S. (1862-); Minerva/Minnie D. (1865-1935) wife of Samuel Lorenzo Pratt; Frederick J. (1869-1956) husband of Daisy Anderson; Lillian; Maud May (1877-1906) wife of Thomas A. Bennett; and Nellie Ethel (1882-1958) wife of Frank M. Keesler. Olive in listed in Sidney Township in the 1900 and 1910 census records. She died 21 Aug 1923 and is also buried in Sidney Township Cemetery. |

Service | At the age of 28, Andrew Mulnix enlisted for three years from Bloomer Township, 18 Dec 1861, as a private in Company I, 1st US Sharpshooters, Berdan's Corps. In April 1862 he was sent to the hospital at Washinton, D. C. with chronic diarrhea, remaining three months, and received a final discharge for disability while there. He was pensioned. | ||

Obit | Greenville Independent, Wednesday, April 4, 1900 Mortuary List: A. J. Mulnix of Sidney, aged 67, a veteran of the Civil War Stanton Weekly Clipper, Friday, March 30, 1900 A. J. Mulnix, of Sidney township, died Wednesday morning at 3 o'clock after an illness of six weeks, aged 67 years. He was a veteran of the Civil War, serving with Berdan's sharpshooters, and had been a resident of Sidney township for over a quarter of a century. He has been a highly respected citizen of the township. A wife, two sons and four daughters survive him. Funeral services will be held at Sidney Center to-day, Friday, at 1 o'clock p.m., under the auspices of Stanton Post No. 37, G. A. R. of which he was a member. |
