David Darwin Kroupa 
(February 20, 1975-June 27, 2002)

MUNISING -- David Darwin Kroupa, age 27, of 780 Sunset, White Lake, and formerly from Munising, died 
in a drowning accident at his residence on Thursday evening, June 27, 2002. He was born on February 
20, 1975 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Zane and Mary (Reffruschinni) Kroupa. He was raised in 
Munising and after the death of his parents, he moved to Marquette County. Dave was a 1994 graduate 
of Negaunee High School. He had attended Northern Michigan University and had worked as a dental 
technician near White Lake. He was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Dave 
loved doing recreational activities and spending time with his friend and family. He adored his nine 
nieces and nephews. Dave enjoyed watching movies and weight training. He liked earning about God and 
growing in his faith. Dave was a fun loving, easy going man wh got along with everyone that came into
his life and those that knew him enjoyed being around him. 

He is survived by his brothers and sisters- Zane "Butch" Kroupa of Panton, Vermont, Steve Kroupa of 
Sherman, Texas, Veronica (Kroupa) Murray and husband Don of Waterford, Michigan, Julie (Kroupa) 
Mattson and her husband Gary of Green Bay, WI and his twin sister, Dorothy "Dodie" (Kroupa) Anderson 
and her husband Bob of Sundell, MI; nine nieces and nephews, (Veronica's children) Jessica, Ben, and 
Katie, (Julie's children) Cameron and Calvin, and (Dodie's children) Cheyenne, Willow, Faith, and 
Zane; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dave was preceded in death by his father Zane in April 
of 1981, his mother Mary in July of 1985, his sister Renee Denise Kroupa in September of 1970, and 
both sets of his grandparents. 

Friends may call at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00. Rev. Mark 
Murphy will conduct Dave's funeral service on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bowerman 
Funeral Chapel in Munising. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
