Submitted by Rose Edwards mailto:baragarose@up.net ************************************************************************ Helen Ruth Lindahl (March 20, 1930-September 9, 2002) Helen Ruth Lindahl, age 72 of Zeba passed away Monday, September 9, 2002 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. She was born March 20, 1930 in Zeba, MI daughter to the late Henry and Susan (Asher) Miller. Helen graduated from Baraga High School in 1990. She married Harvey Lindahl in L'Anse on November 6, 1971. She worked as a unit manager for the New Day Treatment Center in Baraga for more than 10 years until her retirement in 1989. Helen was a member of the Zeba Indian Mission United Methodist Church, KBIC, Ojibwa Senior Center, and the VFW Auxiliary in L'Anse. She enjoyed traveling, watching the Braves, baking, eating out, and sharing meals with loved ones. She is survived by two sons, Harold (Gail) Koski of Zeba, Richard (Miina) Holappa of Baraga; two daughters, Cheryl (Harry "Butch") Soujanen of Pelkie, Carole Koski of Bay City, MI; two brothers, Edward Miller of Zeba, Ronald Miller of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters, Ann (Isadore "Blue") Misegan of Zeba, Barbara Knipp of L'Anse; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; special niece Jenny Tanner of Milwaukee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Harvey on March 18, 1991; son Wayne Koski in 1982; brothers, Earl, Howard, and Robert Miller; sister Mary Steadman. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zeba Indian Mission United Methodist Church. Rev. David Snyder will officiate. Visitations will be on Wednesday from 6-9:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. The VFW Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Indian Pinery Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Yancey DeCota, John DeCota, Brandon Cote, Wesley Holappa, John Steadman, and Bob Tanner.
