BRESSETTE, 63, of Baraga, passed away Monday, March 8, 2004 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse following a lengthy illness. He was born in Assinins, MI. on February 16, 1941 son of the late Paul J. and Susan (Knight) Bressette. Ken attended Marquette Schools. He lived in Minnesota for several years and was employed as an auto body repairman until moving to Baraga in 1991. In 1984 he married the former Gloria Fishbeck in St. Paul, MN. Ken was a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, Assinins, MI., the KBIC Constitutional Task Force Committee the Tribal Enrollment Committee, Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, and the Ojibwa Senior Citizens. Mr. Bressette is survived by Gloria Bressette of Baraga and his stepchildren; Daniel and Mark Andrews, Brenda Ricci, and Lisa LaFlair all of St. Paul, MN., 8 step-grandchildren, brother; Bernard Bressette of Marquette, and sister; Helen Jermac of Marquette. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. A memorial Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Bressette was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 12, 2004 from Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, Assinins, MI. with Father Greg Heikkala officiating. Visitation took place at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Mass. Friends were invited to join the family for fellowship and luncheon at the Ojibwa Senior Citizens following the services. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse is assisting the family with arrangements.
