And the fol lowing Individual members of the Band of the said Edward Assinnise viz: Elias Kebeossadung, Peter Meiwash, Julian Operagan, Edward Mangosid, Soloroan Wewapang, Louis Wison, Michael Paywanegizig, Moses Migisine, Joseph Gendron, Benjamin Gabiwabikoked, John B. Gooens, Augustine Wawassin, Henry Pitassin, Daniel Kebriassing, John Kaylgobi, John B. Metakosige, John B. Onabeniassing, Peter Mamadjigroam, Benjamin Cloutier, Peter Mouiawinim, Joseph Okabinanakwadwebi, Amabel Otchpwemigisins, Joseph Fotok, George Omadagami, Samuel Jawanask, John Nanigijig, Francis Mogwade, John Mesivorash, William Wiobinessi, Alixis Watisins, Henry Wabigagons, Henry Omaiawigijig, William Bebamaski, James Wabigug, Julian Nodin, Kagagins and Rushkwegin of the second part Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty ($150) Dollars to him In hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt is hereby confessed and acknowledged has granted bargained sold remised released alliened and con finned and by these presents do grant bargain sell. remise release alien and confirm unto the said party of the second part and to their heirs and assigns forever The Lots numbers one two three and four (1, 2, 3, & 4) and the West half of the Southwest quarter of section fifteen (15) and the North half of the North West quarter and Lot numbers one (1) in section twenty two) (22) All in Township fifty one (51) North of Range thirty three (33) West and also Lots one and two) (1 & 2) in section ten (10) in township fifty one (51) North of Range Thirty Three (33) West in the United States Land District the lands within which are now Subject to Entry at Marquette Michigan but formerly at Saut Ste. Mary Michigan Containing according to the United States survey in all four hundred and ninety Six 70/100 (496 70/100) acres of Land be the same more or less, with the following exception and reservation viz: Excepting and reserving from the aforesaid described lands fourteen (14) acres to be taken in a square form and shape and to include the Catholic Church new standing on a part of said premises. At L'Anse aforesaid The said Church to be the center of said fourteen (14) acres together with all and singular the hereditaments and appertenances thereto belonging or in wise nd remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the Estate right title interest claim and demand whatsoever of the said party of the first part either in law or Equity of in and to the above bargained premises with the said Hereditments and appurtenances to Have and to Hold the said premises as above described deducting the fourteen (14) acres as aforesaid with the appurtenances unto the said party of the Second part their heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first part for himself his heirs executors and Administrators does covenant grant bargain and agree to and with the said party of the second part their heirs and assigns that at the time of the ensealing and delivery of thus presents he is well seized of the premises above described as a good Sure perfect absolute and indefeasible estate of inheritance in the Law In For Simple and that the said land and premises are free from all incumbrances whatever and that the above bargains premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the Said party of the second part their heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the whole or any part thereof he will forever Warrant-and-Defend in witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto Set his hand and Seal the day and year first above written Signed Sealed acknowledged (S) Frederick Baraga and delivered in presence of Thomas N.C. Lyon a Justice of the Peace for said County personally came the above named Frederick Baraga known to me to be the person who executed the foregoing instilment and acknowledged the same to be his free act and deed. And I also certify that the said .Frederick Baraga is the identical person he represents hereby to be Oran B. Lyon Justice of the Peace State of Michigan County of Chippewa SS I Oran B, Lyon Clerk of Said County and Clerk of the District Court for the County of Chippewa do hereby certify that Oran B. Lyon whose name is subscribed to the certificate or proof of acknowledgment of the annexed instrument and therein written was at the time of taking such proof or acknowledgment a Justice of the Peace in and for said County duly elected and qualified and duly authorized to take the same and further that I am well acquainted with the hand writing of such Justice of the Peace and verily believe that the signature to the said certificate or proof of acknowledgment is genuine. I further certify that said Instrument is executed and acknowledged according to the laws of this state.
