Barton 1869-1871

The Barton Post Office was established May 6th., 1869, in a store at a settlement that was located in Barton Township on the corner of where the four sections 11, 12, 13 and 14 meet. Francis H. Hooker was the only Postmaster. The office was discontinued on Nov. 6th., 1871. The store building is now a home on the southwest corner of Beech and 16 Mile Road.
