On Nov. 6th. , 1883 the post office of Grove was established in the store of George Cook, in the center of Ensley Township, with George Cook as Postmaster. The settlement around the store was known as the Grove and as there was already a post office called Ensley, the post office was given the name Grove. Later the name of the settlement was change to Ensley Center. In 1893, Thomas J. Kinney bought the store and became the postmaster. On July 17th., George F. Cook became Postmaster again. The office was discontinued on Sept. 14th., 1903, with the mail going to Sand Lake Post Office in Kent County.
