McLEANS

By Terry E. Wantz

John W McLean was a Circuit Riding Preacher of the Baptist Church and he established the McLeans Post Office in his home on May 3, 1898 in Bridgeton Township. The office lasted eleven years.

On December 11, 1907 Ardula Lyons became the Postmaster. Lyons was still the postmaster when the office closed on May 31, 1909. The mail then went to Grant.
