FORD J. HENDERSHOT, 542626, corporal, Company K, 7th Infantry, 3d Division. French Croix de Guerre with gilt star, under Order No. 17,467 "D", dated May 17, 1919, General Headquarters, French Armies of the East, with the following citation: "All his men having been wounded by an intense bombardment he hastened to give them first aid and assisted the litter bearers in transporting them to the first-aid station. He returned to look for a severely wounded comrade and brought him in on his shoulders under an incessant bombardment." Residence at enlistment: Bad Axe, Michigan.

CLIFF HENDRICKSON, 257058, sergeant, Company B., 107th Engineers, 32d Division. French Croix de Guerre with silver star, under Order No. 14.559 "D", dated March 17, 1919, General Headquarters, French Armies of the East, with the following citation: "On September 1, 1918, having been sent out on reconnaissance to the north of Juvigny he nobly accomplished his mission. In spite of the violent fire of maching guns and artillery, he brought back accurate information on our advanced elements." Residence at enlistment: Dollar Bay, Michigan.

JOHN L. HOPPES, 249542, private, 128th Field Hospital, 32d Division. French Croix de Guerre with bronze star, under Order No. 14.251 "D" with the following citation: "He always displayed the greatest bravery and unlimited zeal in lavishing his care on the wounded." Residence at enlistment: R.F.D. NO.3, Eagle, Michigan.

LEWIS HUDSON, 281151, corporal, Company L, 126th Infantry, 32d Division. French Croix de Guerre with bronze star, under Order No. 12,372 "D", dated December 16, 1918, General Headquarters, French Armies of the East, with the following citation: "His company having gone beyond its objectives and having received the order to withdraw, he displayed find courage and much coolness in picking up a wounded man and carrying him a distance of 600 meters to a place of safety." Residence at enlistment: 228 Spruce Street, Traverse City, Michigan.
