WALLACE W. WALTMAN, (Foreign Decoration)281526, sergeant, Company M, 126th Infantry, 32d Division. French Croix de Guerre with bronze star, under Order No. 14.523 "D", dated March 16, 1919, General Headquarters, French Armies of the East, with the following citation: "As a member of a combat patrol he attacked an enemy trench under a violent fire of machine guns. Was severely wounded." Residence at enlishment: Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Walter H. Weichmann, corporal, Company D, 103d Infantry, 26th Division. For extraordinary heroism in action at Marcheville, France. September 26, 1918. He climbed out from the top of a trench, under machine-gun fire from all directions, to take prisoners in another trench who had thrown up their hands and shouted that they had surrendered. Approaching he was met with a shower of hand grenades, but he nevertheless stood his ground and opened fire. Residence at enlistment: 640 McDougall Avenue, Detroit, Michigan. Distinguished Service Cross.

Walter H. Weichmann, 302306, corporal, Company D, 103d Infantry, 26th Division. French Croix de Guerre with palm, under Order No. 12.245 "D", dated December 11, 1918, General Headquarters, French Armies of the East, with the following citation: "He mounted the parapet of the trench under a fire of machine guns coming from all directions and in spite of a violent fusillade he heroically resisted an enemy group which had pretended to surrender." Residence at enlistment: 640 McDougall Avenue, Detroit, Michigan. Foreign Decoration.
