Jerome Augustus Botsford


            Jerome Augustus Botsford was born in Owego Co., NY, descendant of the line of Timothy Botsford, eighth son of Elnathan Botsford - son of Henry Botsford (1639 Planter) Milford,Connecticut.

            He married Mary Elizabeth BACKART the daughter of George Backart, January 1, 1855, in Croton, Newaygo Co., MI - both early pioneers of Newaygo County.

            Jerome was a blacksmith, farmer, and worked the sawmill owned by Geroge.

            Jerome and Mary had six children:
            Mary E. BOTSFORD b: ABT 1856 - died at birth
            Charles J. BOTSFORD b: 19 AUG 1858 in Croton, Newaygo Co, MI
            Mary Elizabeth BOTSFORD b. 29 Dec 1860
            Douglas T. BOTSFORD b: 1863 in Croton, MI
            Carrie M. BOTSFORD
            Adeline A. BOTSFORD
