Julia T. Cherwinski, age 83, of Vanderbilt, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. She was born
in Gaylord on March 8, 1918 and had been a lifelong resident of Otsego County. She formerly owned and operated the City Food
Market in Vanderbilt.
Mrs. Cherwinski enjoyed gardening, working crossword puzzles and listening to the radio, especially the "Polka Party" program.
Mrs. Cherwinski is survived by her children, Eleanor (Leo) Francis of Vanderbilt, Michael (Carolyn) Cherwinski of Vanderbilt, Richard
(Beverly) Cherwinski of Vanderbilt, Carole (Joseph) Duhoski of Gaylord and Andrew (Wanda) Cherwinski of Elmira; 11 grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carrie Terry of Gaylord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on Jan. 12, 1990, and her brothers John, Edward, Frank, Andrew and Kise.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cherwinski were held, Saturday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home, the Rev. John Naile,
officiating. Burial in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Vanderbilt.
