Gloria J. Damp, 81, of Gaylord died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at Otsego Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Damp was born March 11, 1919, in Detroit and moved to Gaylord in 1980 from Trenton. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, the Gaylord Lioness Club, Otsego Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and past member of the Chrysanthemum Chapter #114 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed all crafts and reading. Mrs. Damp is survived by her children: Judith (Ralph) Hella of Gaylord, David (Susan) Damp of Macomb Township, 10 grandchildren: Edgar (Corrine) Damp, David Waldecker, Jennifer Damp, Eric Damp, Heidi (Michael) Willison, David (Lori) Hella, Timothy Hella, Michael, Mark and Lisa Stuart, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1995 and her daughter Cheryl Stuart in 1982. She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Harry Ackley, and 2 sisters Shirley Strock and Mona Bowen. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Monday, March 12, 2001, at 10:00 AM, from St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Rev. Gerald Rehagen, officiating. Visitation at the Nelson Funeral Home will be on Sunday from 1-9 PM and on Monday at the church beginning at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord.
