MRS. MINNIE DYER DIED LAST FRIDAY, MAR 31

Operated a Hotel in Gaylord Fifteen Years. Buried at Fairview on Sunday

Mrs. Minnie Dyer died Friday, March 21 at the Traverse City hospital, following an illness of about one month. Erysipelas was the cause of her death. She suffered a stroke of paralysis a year ago, from which she never fully recovered. The body was brought to her home in Gaylord. Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational church Sunday afternoon, Elder Allen Schreur officiating. Burial was made at Fairview.

Minnie Brown was born at Greenup, Kentucky June 10, 1881, being 51 years, nine months and twenty-one days of age. She was married in July, 1898, to Benjamin Messer, Two children, Everett and Polly Ann were born to this union. The father passed away in 1901.

November 14, 1902, she was again married to Lige Dyer at Greenup, and two children were born to this union, Mrs. Harry Lynch and William A. Dyer. She spent her entire life in Kentucky, until about twenty-five years ago, when she came to Otsego County. For the past fifteen years she has owned and operated the Cadillac hotel.

Besides her second husband, she is survived by three children, Everett passing away about twelve years ago; one sister and three brothers, Bertha Brown of Portsmouth, Ohio; William John and Edward Brown, all of Greenup, KY. One grandchild, Arnold F. Schreur, has also passed away. Pall Bearers were Gaylord Business men.
