[The following appeared in the Otsego County Hearld Times in Gaylord, Michigan on 7 May 1909] Submitted by Gloria Smith RESOLUTIONS OF CONDOLENCE. Gaylord, Michigan, May 4, 1909, Hall of Gaylord Lodge, No 366 F.& A.M. Whereas it has pleased the Supreme Architect of the universe to remove from our midst our beloved Brother Charles W. Graham, who was suddenly called from our midst on April 30th, we are again reminded of the uncertainty of life and the immutable certainty of death. While we sympathize with the bereaved we should ever remember that we and the wisest of us know not how soon we may be called to pass over the dark river and join our brethren who have gone before. Resolved that we tender to the wife and family of the deceased brother our heartfelt sympathy in their hour of bereavement, and point them to the great Author of our existence for comfort and consolation. Resolved that these resolutions be spread upon the records of the lodge and published in a local paper and a copy sent to his family. J.B. SCOTT, H.E. Blodgett, D.H.Hutchins, Committee [NOTE FROM GLORIA SMITH: Charles W. Graham was married to the former Mary Catherine OWENS and they lived in Bagley Township. They had 5 children: Florence, Elizabeth, John, Charles, and Martin. Charles W. Graham is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord.] |
