Obituary: Otsego County Herald Times: October 1980 Submitted by Karen McPherson Massey Thomas Burley Muma, 69 Mr. Thomas B. Muma, 69, of Elmira, died Monday, October 13, 1980 at the Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. Mr. Muma was born May 15, 1911 in Clare County, son of James and Emma (Sersaw) Muma and has been a resident of Elmira for many years. He married Frankie Rhodes on September 15, 1930 in Gaylord. Funeral services for Mr. Muma will be held, Thursday, October 16, at 1 p.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home, Elder Ted Engel officating, Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, in Gaylord. Mr. Muma is survived by seven children, Mrs. Nina Treece, Mrs. Viola Davis, Mrs. Lula Sevenski, Mrs. Judy McPherson, all of Elmira; Mrs. Alberta Treece of Detroit, Mr. Willard Muma of Ellsworth, Mrs. Edna Florenski of Alba, three brothers, Don of Mancelona, Norman and William of Elmira; two sisters; Mae Pruitt, Martha Pruitt, both of Elmira; 37 grandchildren, 23 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Frankie, one son, James W. Muma, and one daughter, Clara (Muma) Wingo. Mr. Muma will be in state at the Nelson Funeral Home, where friends may call Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m.
