From the Saginaw News dated Wednesday, December 20, 1950 Submitted by Judith Gresham Smigelski, Mrs. Stephen (Ostrowski) 2117 Robinwood Street Passed away late Tuesday evening at her residence after a lengthy illness. Josephine Szocinski was born March 19, 1886 in Poland and came to this country in infancy. She has resided in Saginaw for the past twenty-seven years. She was married in Gaylord, Mich. in 1901 to Anthony Ostrowski, he passed away in 1926. She was married to Stephen Smigelski September 17, 1949, who survives her. She was a member of St. Casimir's Church. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Filipiak, Stella Ostrowski; four sons, Theodore, Edward, Stanley and Frank Ostrowski, all of Saginaw; one brother and two sisters, Louis Szocinski, Mrs. John Lash, both of Gaylord; Mrs. Walter Klimek, Saginaw; also seven grandchildren. Funeral will take place 8:30 Friday morning from the residence, at 9 a.m. from St. Casimer's Church. Rev. Fr. F. S. Kozak officiating and burial will be in Mr. Olivet Cemetery. Friends and relatives will meet at the residence at 8 p. m. Thursday to recite the Rosary. She may be seen there after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements by Harold A. Cederberg Funeral Home. |
