Harriett Gardiner Researched by Loekie Boersma Harriet Gardiner was born in England about 1815 and married John Gardiner, born about 1804 in Canada. Already in 1840, John and Harriet were living in Georgetown, Ottawa County, with their first son, Daniel Gardiner, who was born about 1833 in Michigan. The 1850 Ottawa County Census shows that they added two more boys to the family besides Daniel. William was born in 1840 and Richard was born in 1846. In 1850 there is also a Henry Gardiner living with John and Harriet, born in Canada. Harriet died June 1, 1851, according to her gravestone record. The 1860 census shows that John Gardiner remarried a young woman named Elizabeth, born in NY State. They have a daughter Clarissa living with them as well as John's two boys. By 1870, the two boys are gone and Elizabeth and John have two more girls, Olive, born 1864, and Mary, born 1868.
