CONKLIN REFORMED CHURCH -
New Pastor Ordained
Conklin Reformed church was the scene of a most impressive service last
Friday evening, when their new pastor, Rev. Marion Klaaren, was ordained. Prior
to the ordination sermon, twenty-two ministers gathered in the afternoon for the
purpose of examining Mr. Marion Klaaren. At six o'clock members of the Ladies
Aid and C. E. served supper to the visiting clergy. At eight o'clock the church
was filled with out-of-town friends and members of the congregation, who had
come to hear the services. The ordination sermon was preached by Re. Ewema of
the First Reformed church of Grand Haven. Rev. J. Klaaren, brother of the new
pastor, gave the charge to the pastor and Rev. J. H. Bruggers of Coopersville
the charge to the congregation. The entire service was most inspiring. Those who
were privileged to witness such an event must feel that they have gained
something worth while from having been there.
